Toenail Fungus Home Remedies
Using bleach for toenail fungus had been a fairly common treatment option for toenail fungus, but it has lost some of it’s popularity to home remedies like vinegar, vicks and Listerine for toenail fungus. A 50/50 solution of bleach and water is typically used for soaking your feet and/or toenails.
Bleach for Toenail Fungus Drawback
The major drawback as with most of the toenail fungus home remedies is the length of time and commitment to doing the treatment. You usually have to soak your feet 1 to 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes over several months. It requires a lot of dedication to keep up with the treatment, but those who were able to stay with the treatment saw their toenail fungus disappear over time.
Using Hydrogen Peroxide for toenail fungus is also a very common home remedy. The use of peroxide for toenail fungus is referred to as an oxidative therapy. You typically take a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and mix it with either water or vinegar.
Hy Research on Peroxide For Toenail Fungus Found…
I will say that during my research I saw more references to using peroxide and vinegar as a treatment for toenail fungus than peroxide and water. I read that using a solution stronger than 3% can cause skin irritation. I found this to be true based on the experiences of others that I read on the toenail fungus forums.
Using Vicks for toenail fungus is probably just as popular as vinegar for toenail fungus. During my research of toenail fungus I found both Vicks and Vinegar were used the most out of all the home remedies for toenail fungus. I’ve probably read through hundreds of toenail sufferers comments on the use of Vicks for toenail fungus, and I’d have to say about 7 of 10 people who’ve tried it said it was effective.
Using Listerine for toenail fungus is a very common and popular home remedy. During my research for a toenail fungus treatment, I found that Listerine was probably the third most popular home remedy for curing toenail fungus. This treatment was usually combined with another household item like vinegar, but I did find some cases where people were using only Listerine.
During my research I did find mixed results with some people that were using Listerine as a home remedy. From the many forums I read, I would say about 70% of the people that used Listerine and vinegar for their toenail fungus had good success.
Using vinegar for toenail fungus is probably the mostly widely used household item when it comes to home remedies for toenail fungus. A few of the well-known vinegar treatment for toenail fungus are:
