Using bleach for toenail fungus had been a fairly common treatment option for toenail fungus, but it has lost some of it’s popularity to home remedies like vinegar, vicks and Listerine for toenail fungus. A 50/50 solution of bleach and water is typically used for soaking your feet and/or toenails.
Bleach for Toenail Fungus Drawback
The major drawback as with most of the toenail fungus home remedies is the length of time and commitment to doing the treatment. You usually have to soak your feet 1 to 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes over several months. It requires a lot of dedication to keep up with the treatment, but those who were able to stay with the treatment saw their toenail fungus disappear over time.
There were others who believed that putting bleach on toenail fungus was just as good as soaking the toenails in bleach. They claimed it was safer because you weren’t subjecting your entire foot to the harsh chemicals of the bleach.
I think both of these treatment options have their merits, but it really boils down to making sure you dilute the bleach with water. Bleach and toenail fungus can be used together… you just need to make sure you use a diluted solution of bleach.
